Boies Schiller Spinoff Roche Freedman Sued by Former Partner in Ongoing Fight Over $250M Cryptocurrency Asset

Litigation boutique Roche Freedman was sued in Florida’s Eleventh Circuit on Tuesday by former partner Paul Fattaruso on claims the Boies Schiller Flexner offshoot withheld nearly $1 million in compensation and retroactively removed Fattaruso from the partnership, depriving him of a 2% share in a cryptocurrency fee estimated to be worth $250 million.
The lawsuit is the latest salvo in an ongoing legal battle between Roche Freedman and co-founder Jason Cyrulnik, who has claimed in court filings that he was ousted by the partnership in February 2021 to separate him from his $60 million share of a cryptocurrency asset the firm received as payment for legal services it performed for an unnamed startup.
