IBM, Cisco share gains lead Dow's 225-point climb

Shares of IBM and Cisco are trading higher Wednesday afternoon, propelling the Dow Jones Industrial Average into positive territory. The Dow DJIA, +0.64% was most recently trading 225 points higher (0.6%), as shares of IBM IBM, +7.00% and Cisco CSCO, +2.69% have contributed to the index’s intraday rally. IBM’s shares have risen $9.26, or 7.2%, while those of Cisco have climbed $1.52 (2.9%), combining for a roughly 71-point bump for the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the gain are Procter & Gamble PG, +2.73%, Home Depot HD, +2.09%, and Goldman Sachs GS, +1.49%. A $1 move in any of the index’s 30 components equates to a 6.59-point swing.
