Biden: “Democracy is on the ballot for all of us”

In a primetime TV address on Wednesday evening, President Biden once more warned Americans that democracy is at stake in the 2022 midterms.

Speaking from Washington DC’s Union Station, Biden pointed to Donald Trump’s false claims that the presidential election was rigged, and hints by GOP candidates that they won’t accept the outcome if defeated in the midterms.

“American democracy is under attack because the defeated former president of the United States refuses to accept the results of the 2020 election,” Biden said. “He refuses to accept the will of the people.

Make no mistake – democracy is on the ballot for all of us.

The president added: “As I stand here today, there are candidates running for every level of office in America – for governor, for Congress, for attorney general, for secretary of state – who won’t commit to accepting the results of the elections they’re in.”
