Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Monday at 10:29AM

Ashapura Minechem(up 5.93%), Pokarna(up 5.30%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 3.44%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 3.00%), 20 Microns(up 2.29%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 2.17%), Coal India(up 1.57%), KIOCL(up 1.51%), Aro Granite Industries(up 1.46%) and MOIL(up 1.34%) were among the top gainers.

NMDC Ltd(down 0.22%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 7.05 points up at 17366.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 13.4 points at 58978.12 at around 10:29AM.

Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 4.07%), Hero MotoCorp(up 2.92%), Eicher Motors(up 2.44%), Maruti Suzuki(up 2.39%), Bajaj Auto(up 2.15%), Coal India(up 1.61%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.56%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.41%), NTPC(up 1.34%) and Bharti Airtel(up 1.31%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 2.47%), Adani Enterprises(down 1.49%), JSW Steel(down 1.36%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.23%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.22%), Hindalco Industries(down 0.96%), Infosys(down 0.73%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.7%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 0.65%) and Tata Consultancy(down 0.59%) were trading in the red.
