Top cryptocurrencies on Wednesday traded mixed. The largest cryptocurrency by market value, Bitcoin was down by 2.89 percent over the last 24 hours to trade at $24,209.54. At the time of writing this article (0930 IST), the value of Ethereum dropped by 3.18 percent to currently trade at $1,649.69.
The value of XRP and Solana marked lows of 1.30 percent and 6.59 percent, respectively. The price of Cosmos witnessed a 3.69 percent sink in its value, followed by a reduction in Chainlink of 5.41 percent. Litecoin fell 1.17 percent and Polkadot sank 3.81 percent. Contrastingly, the values of Avalanche and Toncoin went up by 3.36 percent and 0.67 percent, respectively.
On 22 February, the global crypto market cap declined by 2.74 percent to $1.10 trillion in the past 24 hours. Contrastingly, the total crypto market volume stood at $68.18 billion, having registered gains of 9.38 percent over the last day.
Gainers and decliners of the day
According to CoinMarketCap, the top gainers were Ankr, Filecoin, 1inch Network, and UNUS SED LEO. Contrarily, the top losers were, Huobi Token, Flow, Curve Dao Token, and dYdX.
“While the SEC moves to expand its jurisdiction, other agencies seem to prefer crypto to be pushed out of the regulatory sphere,” Coinbase said, citing recent U.S. bank regulator warnings to financial institutions about holding crypto on public blockchains.
Meme coins witnessed fall
On Wednesday, the value of meme coins dropped. Shiba Inu traded lower by 4.35 percent to $0.000013. The fluctuations in the market negatively impacted the price of Dogecoin, with its current value decreasing by 3.44 percent to $0.084918. The value of Dogelon Mars plunged by 7.21 percent.
Metaverse tokens in the red
A majority of the top metaverse tokens showed a drop today. The price of The Sandbox marked lows of 6.69 percent, which continued in Axie Infinity by a 6.24 percent fall and Decentraland by a 6 percent reduction from yesterday.
