Dubai’s Emirates Airline is to invest $135 million in a new pilottraining centre, to be opened next year.
The new centre, which will include six Full Flight Simulator Bays (FFS) will boost the airline’s capacity for pilot training by 54% annually and will be next to its current training facilities in Dubai.
The facility will take the number of FFS operated by Emirates to 17, providing capacity for 130,000 training hours per year.
The airline said the new centre is in line with its scheduled delivery of its first Airbus A350 aircraft and will commence training its first batch of A350 pilots by June 2024.
