S&P 500 loses $4.4 trillion in m-cap in 1 year till Jan 31: Report

Combined market capitalisation (m-cap) of S&P 500 index companies fell 10.9% from $40.7 trillion to $36.3 trillion between January 31, 2022 and January 31, 2023, according to GlobalData’s report. The index added 89 new stocks, out of which Warner Bros Discovery, First Solar and VICI Properties posted over 50% growth. Technology sector dominated mergers and acquisitions activity, the report added.
